Principal's Message
Dear Canoga Park Hunter Family,
With the school year well underway, it is time to set our sights on achieving the academic goals we have set for our student body. In order to improve student learning and raise the level of achievement, we must work together as a school community. Our collaborative efforts will help our students succeed in school and in life.
Parents are an essential part of this collaboration. We need the parents of our students to take an active role in promoting our shared educational and social goals for our young people.  Parents help by encouraging their children to follow the school rules and policies that promote an effective learning environment at Canoga Park High School. We expect our students to dress appropriately, attend school regularly, arrive on time, practice good citizenship, and work hard at schoolwork and homework.
We hope that you will familiarize yourself with our Parent Handbook, given to every student this year.  It spells out our expectations for students, and offers tips to parents on keeping kids on the path to school success.  All our 9th graders were provided with an agenda planner book free of charge. All freshman teachers use the planner in class daily. You can check for homework assignments and other important information in the planner.
At home, provide your student with a quiet, well lit area to do homework free of distractions. Insist that homework be done before recreational activities. Please contact your child’s teachers and counselor if you have any questions. Your help at home enables us at school to be more effective.
Sincerely,
Pam Hamashita
Principal
